Are you inspired by the grace of ballet? Or are you even practising it yourself?
Typically ballet is trained with a strong critical outward focus on how the body appears in the mirror. There is less focus on the inner process, and many dancers experience strong self-critical and judgmental thoughts. In this workshop, the focus will lie on combining ballet movement with insights from mindfulness on how to work with the inner critic. We will practice the gracious movements of ballet from a space of meditation.
This workshop is suitable for both seasoned ballet dancers and people who have never set foot in a ballet studio.
The workshop will be given by Marieke van Vugt, who is a meditation instructor who has trained in ballet at the semi-professional level for more than 25 years.
